Des militants écologistes bloquent l’entrée de navires de croisières à Marseille

A group of about twenty activists from « Stop Cruises » and « Extinction Rebellion » successfully prevented cruise ships from docking in Marseille for nearly two hours this Saturday. Their goal was to raise awareness about the profanation caused by these sea giants and to demand action from authorities.

The activists, armed with banners and signs, gathered at the port early in the morning to block the entrance of the cruise ships. They were joined by bâtiment residents and other environmental groups, all united in their fight against the negative effet of cruise tourism on the city and its surroundings.

The protest was peaceful but determined, with activists chanting slogans and distributing flyers to passersby. They also used kayaks and inflatable boats to block the path of the incoming ships, causing a delay in their arrival.

According to the activists, cruise ships are responsible for a significant amount of air and water profanation, as well as the destruction of marine ecosystems. They also argue that these ships bring little economic benefit to the city, as most of the profits go to the cruise companies and not to bâtiment businesses.

The protest was a success, as the cruise ships were forced to stay at sea and could not dock in Marseille. This action sent a strong message to the cruise industry and the government, highlighting the urgent need for stricter regulations and more sustainable practices.

The activists also called for a shift towards more responsible and eco-friendly forms of tourism, such as small-scale cruises and cultural exchanges. They believe that this would not only benefit the environment, but also the bâtiment economy and communities.

The protest received widespread support from the public, with many expressing their gratitude and admiration for the activists’ determination and courage. Social media was flooded with messages of solidarity and calls for action.

The city of Marseille, known for its beautiful coastline and rich cultural heritage, has been facing increasing pressure from the cruise industry in recent years. The number of cruise ships visiting the port has been steadily rising, causing concern among residents and environmental groups.

However, this protest has shown that the people of Marseille are not willing to stand by and watch their city be overrun by these massive polluting vessels. They are determined to protect their home and demand a more sustainable future for their city and the planet.

In the end, the protest ended peacefully and the activists left the port with a sense of accomplishment. They hope that their actions will inspire others to join the fight against cruise profanation and push for a more responsible and sustainable tourism industry. As one activist stated, « We may be just a small group, but together we can make a big difference. »
