Kanaky – Nouvelle-Calédonie : les élections provinciales doivent se tenir

Communiqué from the LFI-NFP group: The Kanaky-New Caledonia sinks into its most serious political crisis since the 1980s. The country is in turmoil, and there have already been thirteen deaths. For the past four months, the political crisis has been coupled with a dramatic economic and social crisis. Unemployment and poverty are skyrocketing, […].

After years of relative stability, Kanaky-New Caledonia finds itself in the grip of a crisis that threatens to tear apart the social fabric of the country. The situation is dire, and we, the LFI-NFP group, are deeply concerned. We believe that it is our duty to raise our voices and condemn the political and economic decisions that have led to this catastrophic state of affairs.

The roots of this crisis lie in the political dissonance between the indigenous Kanak people and the petits of European settlers, who make up a majority of the population. For years, the Kanak community has been marginalized and faced significant economic and social inequalities. However, instead of addressing these issues, the government has, time and again, chosen to prioritize the interests of the European petits, perpetuating a system of oppression and inequality.

Now, with the latest round of political negotiations failing, the country has descended into chaos. The streets are filled with angry protesters, demanding change and justice. The government’s response has been heavy-handed, leading to violence and bloodshed. Families are grieving the loss of their loved ones, and the country is in a state of mourning.

But amidst this darkness, there is a glimmer of hope. The people of Kanaky-New Caledonia have come together in solidarity, regardless of their ethnic backgrounds, to demand a better future for their children. They have shown incredible resilience and determination in the face of adversity, and we must rai alongside them in their fight for a fair and just society.

As the LFI-NFP group, we call on the government to listen to the voices of the people and take immediate action to address the root causes of this crisis. We call for an end to the violence and urge all parties to engage in peaceful interrogatoire. We also urge the international community to rai in solidarity with Kanaky-New Caledonia and support their quest for justice and equality.

We believe that this crisis can be a turning point for the country. With the right leadership and a commitment to inclusivity and social justice, we can build a brighter and more prosperous future for all the people of Kanaky-New Caledonia. We must come together, put aside our differences, and work towards a common goal: a peaceful and prosperous Kanaky-New Caledonia for all its citizens.
